Ksi Lisims LNG announces a 20-year agreement to supply Centrica with 1 million tonnes a year, ahead of its final investment decision
Ksi Lisims LNG announced an agreement under which Centrica Energy, the UK parent of British Gas, would buy 1 million tonnes of LNG a year for 20 years; the company says it now has agreements covering 9 million of its planned 12 million tonnes a year. The wire report does not say whether the Centrica agreement is a binding sale and purchase agreement. The project is still subject to a final investment decision, with first shipments expected in the early 2030s (The Canadian Press via CTV News, 2026-09-30).

Projects
How it bears on the outcome
| Explanation | Fit | Why |
|---|---|---|
| O0 No meaningful speed-up | Against weak | A binding 20-year supply contract bringing the project to 9 of 12 million tonnes contracted makes an investment decision more likely, mildly awkward for no speed-up; no decision yet. |
| O1 Faster, but the extra output goes mostly elsewhere | Fits moderate | A contract with a UK buyer for West Coast LNG adds export capacity aimed at overseas markets, the feature that matches build-out going mostly elsewhere. |
| O2 Faster, and more volume reaches the US (this level or higher) | Neutral weak | Overseas LNG volume does not add to US-bound volume, but says nothing about other flows to the US. |
| O3 Locked-in preferential terms for the US | Neutral weak | No US party or preferential term is involved. |
