Poilievre pledges 'One and Done' approvals for resource projects, with a one-year maximum and a six-month target, and names ten projects to accelerate

In a Conservative Party release issued from Terrace, B.C., on 7 April 2025, during the federal election campaign, Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre pledged a 'One and Done' rule for resource projects. It would create a single Rapid Resource Project Office, with one application and one environmental review per project, and decisions within a target of six months and a maximum of one year. He said he would approve LNG Canada's Phase II and rapidly review nine other projects: the Suncor Base Mine Extension (Alberta); the Rook 1 uranium mine (Saskatchewan); the Springpole Lake gold project, the Upper Beaver gold mine, the Northern Road Link and the Crawford Nickel project (Ontario); the Troilus gold and copper mine and the Sorel-Tracy port terminal (Quebec); and the Cape Ray gold and silver mine (Newfoundland). The release also pledged to repeal Bill C-69 and lift what it called the cap on Canadian energy.
