Sisson tungsten project
Tungsten mine proposed in New Brunswick. It holds provincial (2015) and federal (2017) environmental approvals, and was referred to the federal Major Projects Office on November 13, 2025. It has US$15 million from the US Department of Defense under the Defense Production Act (May 1, 2025) and up to C$8.2 million from Natural Resources Canada (conditional); the stated aim is tungsten capacity for "the United States and Canada". An updated feasibility study (August 31, 2026) puts output at 598,000 metric tonne units of tungsten oxide a year. No buyer has been disclosed, and construction has not started.
