NWMO deep geological repository (Ignace / Wabigoon Lake Ojibway Nation)

The Nuclear Waste Management Organization's proposed deep geological repository for Canada's used nuclear fuel, in the Ignace and Wabigoon Lake Ojibway Nation area of northwestern Ontario. On 24 June 2026 Ottawa began the process to list it under the Building Canada Act, together with the Grays Bay Road and Port and the Mackenzie Valley Highway, with decisions targeted for fall 2026.
