Northern Road Link (Ring of Fire)
A proposed all-season road of about 117 to 164 kilometres in northern Ontario, put forward by Marten Falls First Nation and Webequie First Nation, that would cross the Attawapiskat River and connect the Marten Falls Community Access Road and the Webequie Supply Road, as part of a planned all-season road network linking the Ring of Fire mining area to the provincial highway system at Nakina (Impact Assessment Agency of Canada, 2023). Under Ontario's accelerated plan, pending approvals and consultation, construction is scheduled to start in spring 2028 and the road to open by November 2031 (Government of Ontario, June 2026).
