The Montreal Metropolitan Community removes a 7.2-hectare parcel from its protected wetlands as an alternative site for Stablex
On 25 March 2025, at an extraordinary meeting, the Communauté métropolitaine de Montréal amended its wetlands-protection rules to exclude a 7.2-hectare parcel in Blainville that, in its view, Stablex could use instead of the site in the Blainville peatland that Quebec was about to take by Bill 93; the CMM said the parcel is in an already degraded area (La Presse, 26 March 2025).
