Blainville cancels its agreement to sell Stablex 69 ha of city land for $14M
On 23 August 2023 Blainville's council voted unanimously to cancel its agreement to sell Stablex 69 hectares of city land for C$14 million for a new hazardous-waste cell, citing the lack of social acceptability and risks to the peatland after the BAPE hearings. Mayor Liza Poulin said the city could not reconcile its citizens' interests with the project (Ville de Blainville).
