Eby drops the confidence-vote framing on a bill to suspend parts of DRIPA; no bill is tabled that session
After backing away from permanent changes to DRIPA, Premier David Eby proposed suspending some sections for up to three years and said it would be a confidence vote; on 13 April 2026 he dropped the confidence framing, citing conversations with NDP MLA Joan Phillip (Vista Radio, 14 April 2026). Later in April the government said no DRIPA bill would be tabled in the spring session (Vista Radio, 28 May 2026).
