BC Court of Appeal upholds the NEB's power to let Trans Mountain proceed despite Burnaby bylaws
Burnaby lost its appeal over Trans Mountain's survey work on Burnaby Mountain, which the National Energy Board had allowed without the city's consent despite city bylaws. Mayor Derek Corrigan said: 'we don't have any power against an agency of the federal government and a multi-national corporation when they decide to impose their will on us' (CBC News, Mar. 29, 2017).
