TransCanada files Energy East under Quebec's environmental assessment procedure
TransCanada filed a project notice for the Quebec portion of Energy East under Quebec's Environment Quality Act and agreed to produce an impact study by June 6, 2016. Quebec suspended the inquiry it had given the BAPE, asked for its permanent-injunction application to be put off, and undertook to withdraw it once the impact study was approved (Quebec environment ministry release, Apr. 22, 2016; Global News/The Canadian Press, Apr. 22, 2016).
