Quebec Bill 5 (priority projects of national scope, single authorization) tabled by Eric Girard

Quebec Finance Minister Eric Girard tabled Bill 5 on 9 December 2025. It would let the government designate 'priority projects of national scope', for which the Council of Ministers would issue a single authorization in place of multiple permits and could set aside parts of other laws (sections 22-23); the framework would last five years (National Assembly).
