Trans Mountain drag-reducing agent project

Trans Mountain project that injects more drag-reducing agent at 12 existing pump stations to raise the pipeline's throughput by up to about 10%, or roughly 90,000 barrels a day, without new pipe. The Canada Energy Regulator approved it on June 4, 2026 (Order XO-005-2026); Trans Mountain scheduled construction for June to October 2026 and operations from October 2026. The extra oil goes to the Westridge terminal near Vancouver for export by tanker and to the Puget Sound line serving Washington State refineries; Trans Mountain has not published the split.
