NexGen Rook I uranium mine

Underground uranium mine at the Arrow deposit in Saskatchewan's Athabasca Basin, designed to produce up to 30 million pounds of U3O8 a year; the 2021 feasibility study gives 239.6 million pounds of reserves and a 10.7-year mine life, and the 2024 cost update puts pre-production capital at about C$2.2 billion. The CNSC issued a site-preparation and construction licence on March 5, 2026 (operation needs a separate licence), and licensed construction began on June 8, 2026. NexGen targets first ore in the third quarter of 2030, as reported from its September 2026 investor day. All of its more than 10 million pounds of contracted sales are with US utilities.
