Shell completes its acquisition of ARC Resources, the Montney producer that holds capacity at Cedar LNG
Shell completed its acquisition of Calgary-based ARC Resources on 2 September 2026 (Shell), under an agreement announced on 27 April 2026 that valued ARC at about C$22 billion including assumed net debt (ARC Resources). ARC holds about 1.5 million tonnes a year of liquefaction capacity at Cedar LNG, which it has sold on to ExxonMobil; those contracts now sit inside Shell. The ownership of Cedar LNG itself (Haisla Nation 50.1%, Pembina 49.9%) did not change.
