Alberta completes the Moose Lake plan sought by Fort McKay First Nation
Alberta completed the Moose Lake Access Management Plan: no major infrastructure such as central processing facilities, permanent camps, airfields or landfills within a 10-kilometre zone, a 15 per cent cap on land disturbance, enhanced monitoring of air, land, water and biodiversity, and work with the community on monitoring. Chief Mel Grandjamb said 'the plan is what we wanted'; Minister Jason Nixon called it 'a pro resource-development plan' (CBC News, Feb. 10, 2021).
